NHL All Star MVP

Running the Right Race

Former NHL enforcer and All-Star MVP, John Scott is a devout Catholic and a passionate Catholic motivational speaker. John’s path has been anything but ordinary, from having fought his way to the NHL, winning the NHL All-Star game MVP and having a movie being made about his story, to only then realize that true happiness can’t be found in fame and fortune. John was raised in Canada where going to church was as foreign as speaking Japanese, his first time attending church was for his parents wedding. He received a hockey scholarship to attend Michigan Tech University where he earned his bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. His faith grew after meeting his wife and John was baptized in 2016. John is now an altar server at a local Carmelite Monastery, he is one of the directors for the Knights of the Altar at his home parish. His family says a daily Rosary and he has a weekly holy hour. John is a regular contributor on Relevant radio on the Cale Clark show. John is fun loving, energetic and has a great story that everyone can relate too. John currently live in Traverse City, MI with his wife Danielle and 8 daughters.

FR. FAWAZ ELIA KAKO

Fr. Fawaz

Fr. Fawaz Kako is a Chaldean Catholic priest and the current pastor of St. George Chaldean Catholic Church in Shelby Township, Michigan. He has served faithfully in the priesthood for over 15 years, ministering in both Chicago and Michigan. Fr. Fawaz comes from the Redemptorist religious order background, carrying with him a deep passion for preaching, pastoral care, and spiritual formation.
